Emmanuel Baptist Church is a warm, vibrant, and Christ-centred church family in the coastal town of Swanage, Dorset. We’re prayerfully seeking a new minister to lead us into the next season of ministry and mission.
Located on the edge of a thriving seaside community and blessed with a modern, multi-purpose church building, we’re excited about what God is doing here — and we’re ready to grow. 

Who we are

We are a Bible-believing evangelical Baptist church, affiliated with both the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Old Baptist Union. Our Sunday services draw around 125 people each week, with a wide age range and a growing number of young families. We stream our services online and run a wide range of midweek activities — from youth open-mic nights and community art groups to Alpha courses and curry nights.
We are a church with a strong team-based ethos, supported by vibrant ministries in worship, youth, life groups, prayer, and mission. Over 70% of the congregation are involved in life groups.

We’re seeking a minister who is:

• A team leader – collaborative, empowering, and committed to developing others in their God-given gifts
• A pastor – caring and compassionate, someone who helps people feel known, loved, and valued
• A vision-seeker – able to help the church discern God’s calling and direction through prayer, Scripture, and reflection
• A Bible teacher – passionate about God’s Word and able to connect its truth with everyday life
• A pray-er – committed to growing a deep culture of personal and corporate prayer
• Mission-hearted – encouraging the church to live out its calling locally and globally
• A community member – ready to engage with families, young people, and the unchurched in our town 

Practical Details

We offer a manse in a peaceful residential area of Swanage, close to the Jurassic Coast
Stipend: £30,000
There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian (Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9)
